Hey, i saw your post about the chanel bags, I was at their store on rodeo the other day and the employer told me they're raising the prices on their caviar flap bags by $600 every 6 months 'cause they wanna be on the same price level as Hermes bags (that will never happen though!)

That is disgusting. These prices are beginning to get rediculous. Soon we’ll have a case of, if we already do not, ‘the emperor’s new clothes’. The Hermès Constance went from approximately $6,000.00 from a few years ago to $8,000.00+. The Chanel flap went from approximately $3,000.00 a few years ago to $4,500.00+. I remember when I would walk in to the Bloor Flagship here in Toronto at 15 years old, and the Sales Associates would she me a 25cm Birkin in Forest Green Fjord and it was $7,000.00. Chanel is pretty, and I admire it, but their craftsmanship is garbage. I know several woman who own much Chanel, and they concur that the quality is not equivalent to the price. Hermès is zenith, but then again so are the prices.
